Road Trip (I Have Miles Yet to Travel)
I have miles yet to travel- I have not yet arrived
The journey of the SpiritI have by grace survived
When I encounter holinessI see the need to grow
The place where I am transformedIs on God’s glory road
I’ve walked with many saints thereOn paths where I was led
I know the Lord was leadingThough times I walked in dread
But other times were gloriousThough fateful ways I’ve trod
They led me ever onwardInto the arms of God
Chorus
The road we walk before usWas by the Father planned
To build in us a true trustHe leads us by the hand
Tho the journey take usO'er mountains rough and steep
He will not forsake usOurfaith in Him He'll keep
Bridge:
Sufficient grace will be my guideAs I walk the way of change
The miles meant to kill our prideTill holiness remains
I have yet miles to traveluntil I look like Christ
Some weavings to unravelSome sins to sacrifice
But God’s grace is sufficientTo see me safely home
His promises will not relentTho rugged ruts I roam.
At times my mind may murmurBut I will not forget
My footsteps become firmerAnd on a Rock are set
I’ve many miles to traverseSo many tests and trials
God’s promises I’ll rehearseT'will see me through the miles
Chorus
The road we walk before usWas by the Father planned
To build in us a true trustHe leads us by the hand
Tho the journey take usO'er mountains rough and steep
He will not forsake usOurfaith in Him He'll keep
